HOW WE BUILD IT / Powder Coat

POWDER COAT

If a part needs powder coat, bring the coating requirements in before the manufacturing plan is finished. The finish belongs with the material, geometry and assembly requirements.

Bring your powder coating requirements to PTB as part of the finished-part plan. Include the specified coating system, color, appearance requirements and any reference sample with the project details.

Mark surfaces that need to stay clear, including threads, mating faces or electrical contact areas where the drawing requires masking. Tell us how the part will be used so the coating choice can be reviewed against the application.

We will confirm the process route and acceptance requirements before the job is quoted. If color or appearance is critical, use an approved physical sample or specification; a black-and-white website image can't settle that decision.

SPECIFY THE FINISH

Define the finish along with the part. Color, texture and coverage belong in the specification, along with areas that must remain uncoated. Threads, mounting faces, grounding points and close-fitting connections may need masking; identify those requirements on the drawing.
