PIE CUTS
Pie cuts let you build a bend from short angled tube sections. That can be useful when the route needs to change in a way a single catalog bend doesn't cover.
The finished shape depends on the segment geometry, fit-up and welding. More joints also mean more fabrication work, so compare the whole route before deciding between a mandrel bend and a segmented assembly.
Check the material, OD, wall and cut details on the actual product. Don't assume a stated segment angle tells you the finished bend angle without knowing how the angle is measured and how the pieces will be joined.
Plan the routing and connections before welding the assembly. If you need repeat parts rather than a one-off route, show us the finished geometry and quantity so we can discuss the manufacturing approach.
PLAN THE SEGMENTS AND JOINTS
Individual angled tube sections can be fitted together to create a segmented change of direction. The cut angle, orientation and number of sections shape the route. Fit-up and weld planning matter because every joint becomes part of the finished assembly.
