1D CLR EXPLAINED
A 1D bend has a centerline radius equal to the tube outside diameter. For example, 2-inch OD with a 2-inch CLR is 1D geometry. That does not mean the inside radius is 2 inches.
A tighter centerline radius can help a tube route through limited space. It also changes the manufacturing conversation. The material, wall, angle, tooling and acceptable shape through the bend still matter.
Before you design around a 1D bend, confirm the combination your part actually needs. A radius ratio by itself doesn't establish that the part is available off the shelf or can be manufactured to your drawing.
Send the OD, wall, material and the space you're working within. If a different radius or part layout solves the same fit problem, that's useful to know before the design gets locked in.
